Modern Rooftop Wedding Styled Shoot

March 1, 2013 •

I always feel like I’ve birthed a child after a styled shoot comes full circle. It’s like planning a mini wedding, and whoa. It’s a lot. A lot of fun, a lot of work–I don’t envy you ladies planning your big days.

For this styled shoot, I wanted to create despite it being winter and ugly and drab outside. We summoned metallics, flower power, rooftop styling, and the real live love of the gorgeous Tiffany and Brian to make something beautiful despite the gray and cold.

A HUGE thank you to the vendors involved in this shoot–it couldn’t have happened without you. Obviously. You are incredible. (And hey, brides–check ’em out for help making your wedding day fabulous and fancy. You’ll be in good hands.)

I’m so proud to have this shoot featured on Ruffled Blog–see that goodness here.

Summer + Peter: Elegant Highland Gardens Provo Wedding

February 6, 2013 •

Summer and Peter’s wedding day was absolutely blissful. Well, other than being ten degrees outside. They incorporated so many personalized elements while keeping everything classy, timeless and elegant. Summer is the epitome of elegance, and every detail reflected her superb taste. I died and went to photographer heaven. Okay. Sometimes I think really cheesy things. You know you love it. Summer and Peter were married in the Provo LDS Temple and then continued the celebration at Highland Gardens in Alpine. Their day was relaxed and focused on the most important people in their lives–each other, their friends and families, and Summer’s amazing kids. Their wedding is proof that winter weddings can be gorgeous! Truth be told it’s pretty hard to have not-gorgeous when Summer and Peter are involved. See their engagement session and bridal session for further beauty and love. Summer and Peter, you are both absolutely radiant–you are a perfect match and I couldn’t be happier for you! Summer and Peter had their first date at Guru’s, and decided to recreate it on their wedding day–complete with the same salad Peter ordered. The wind is our best friend and worst enemy. =)Favorite.Summer danced with her kids–they had a blast! Sarah + Jonathan: Salt Lake City Wedding

January 25, 2013 •

Sarah and Jonathan were married on a quiet January morning–the quietest I’ve ever seen Temple Square. It was like we had the whole place to ourselves! The magical morning sunrise outdid the cold, and they survived. Only these two could make such a frigid day look so beautiful.

They were surrounded by so many friends and family on their special day–as in line going out the door for hours and hours at the reception–and it just goes to show how lovable these two are. They have a way of bringing people together and making everyone feel like the most important person in the world. It was beautiful to see how many dear friends they had there to support them on the biggest day of their lives.

Sarah and Jonathan, thank you so much for letting me be part of such a wonderful, wonderful day. It was an honor.

Fine Art Wedding Albums: The Best Way To Tell Your Wedding Story

January 24, 2013 •

While digital files give you the chance to archive your photos forever, I strongly believe that albums are the best way to showcase your photos and tell the story of your wedding day.

Think with me: the first thing you do when you see a friend’s album on the coffee table? You open it up, pore over every page, and relive the magic and beauty of the day. Even if you saw your friend’s disc of digital files, you wouldn’t beg her to pop them in and click through them on her computer.

utah wedding albums

This is why I’m so excited to offer these albums: they’re not just something pretty that will die a slow, horrible death on your computer; they are the perfection of your wedded bliss bottled beautifully for a treasured heirloom to be cherished forever.

We make this happen with:

The Finest Materials–in the world.  I’ve searched high and low for albums I could feel proud to offer–and boy oh boy, do I ever! The rich Japanese silk fabrics will hold up no matter how many times you look through that gorgeous thing; the Italian nabuk leathers are super-soft and super durable–this isn’t your average plastic-y gag-me-slick leather. The pages are 2mm thick, with Fuji crystal archive paper and a coating to withstand sticky baby hands. 🙂 Lay-flat binding is micro-creased, which means it’s crafted to be the least noticeable–so your wedding story is told without interruption.

The other thing that makes these albums stand out and last forever:

Custom Design. I’m drawn to simple, ultra-clean design for the most beautiful way to display your images. I also offer completely customizable design with unlimited photo swaps with purchase of a wedding album.

But, Brooke, what do these designs look like? They sound pretty, but I wanna see!  Here you are, my dear.

But, Brooke, I wanna see a FULL album design! All the photos in all the pages!

As you wish. See a full 20 page 10×8 album design here.

*All past wedding clients who didn’t have the option of purchasing a wedding album should have received an email from me about albums with a very, very special offer–if you are a past wedding client and didn’t receive such an email, let me know and I’ll send it on over!

*Many photos of the albums themselves are not mine. Photo credits clockwise from top: Claire Penn, Scott Vuocolo, Kim Hawkins, Ben Sasso, Sachin Khona, Carolina Photosmith, W&E Photography.

Sarah + Jonathan: Utah Winter Bridals

January 15, 2013 •

Sarah is one of the kindest, classiest souls to ever walk the earth. She and Jonathan fit together beautifully, with  the most quiet, low-maintenance, best-friend kind of love. They both recently returned from church missions in the Philippines, and huge kudos go out to them for being troopers in the January chill. They’re now off adventuring in Washington DC and I couldn’t be more happy for all the fun and joy that lies ahead!

It’s so refreshing and heart-warming when I can tell a client trusts me implicitly–Sarah was willing to freeze her darling fingers off for my crazy snow-blowing idea, but whoa. The results are worth it. You’re about to see.

Meet Sarah and Jonathan, a lovely pair destined for greatness.

As unbearably.nasty.bone-chilling.cold. as this winter has been, it makes for some gorgeous photographs, I gotta tell you. Interested in having your photo taken in this winter wonderland? All the details can be found here.

Jennifer + Tyler: Aspen Grove Anniversary Photos

January 8, 2013 •

Jennifer and Tyler were wed in Vermont and took advantage of the mountainous Utah winter landscape to capture a few more photos in the middle of newlywed bliss.

Working with Jennifer and Tyler was a photographer’s dream come true. I told you, they’re like movie stars–but the most down to earth movie stars you’ll ever meet. Jennifer was absolutely stunning in her blush Nancy Barrus Couture gown, and Tyler’s Beckett & Robb suit with a fedora? Um, yes. Silver screen, here they come.

But the real magic of people and photos can’t just be their fabulous style and ridiculous good looks. For Jennifer and Tyler, the magic is in adventurous love, wild dreams and spontaneity–the kind that led them to move to upstate New York and buy a darling bed and breakfast.  It suits them perfectly, because they are the most open-hearted, welcoming duo.

I’m thanking my lucky stars that I got to photograph Jennifer and Tyler’s picture-perfect love. Thank you, you two, for inviting me into the circle of your hospitality and friendship.

See the Martha Stewart feature of their wedded rapture!

Featured: Martha Stewart Weddings

January 7, 2013 •

I was beaming the day it finally came out. I just sat there, looking at the glossy pages for the longest time–in the grocery store, with my cart full of eggs and ziploc bags and bread and milk–and an issue of Martha Stewart Weddings 2013.

With my photographs on page 152.

But really? My images, that I had taken with my own two hands, in Martha Stewart Weddings, the magazine? The print publication with all its prestige and prettiness?

It’s true. I’m over the moon excited to announce that my work is in the Winter 2013 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings!

See a sneak peek here, and be sure to pick up the print publication for hunnnndreds of pages of wedding-inspiration goodness.

Stay tuned for Jen and Tyler’s images–people, these two are like movie stars. The nicest movie stars you’ll ever meet.
