I will not lie to you–Meisha and Sam are one of my most favorite couples. They ooze romance, bliss, personality. They are grundles of fun–so fun that I had to make up that weird word ‘grundles’ to try to express it. (Where did that come from? No clue. We’ll blame it on the two babies who are my constant conversation partners.)

So, it follows that their wedding day was all of these wonderful things. And yes, Sam did get thrown in the pool. (!!) And yes, there were FIREWORKS. Told ya these two were awesome.

I am humbled with gratitude that this dream pair let me in on their most special day–thank you, Meisha and Sam. I’m honored to call you friends.

Romney and Jesse. I just sighed trying to think what to write about them, because nothing I say will be able to describe the pure joy that radiated from them on their wedding day. What a treat to be part of so much bliss. And fun! I mean, a fake money exit? I’m all over it.

Kendra and Jeff.

This is the first wedding I’ve photographed where I’ve been part of the ceremony. Maybe other photographers do that a lot, but while I’ve photographed friends, Kendra is much more than that to me. I wouldn’t have had it any other way–it was just a treat to document these two. Not just because Kendra is one of my very very best women, but because their wedding day was full of love and beauty and a few torrential crazy rainstorms but mostly love and beauty. They weren’t ruffled by anything under the sun (or rain, as fate would have it!) and just flowed with happiness and excitement and wow it’s just great we get to spend our whole lives with the ones we love.

Our core group of soul sisters reunited and it felt SO good, celebrating such a joyful event with people who have shaped my heart so much. We may or may not have had a sleepover on the night of Kendra’s wedding reminiscent of the sleepovers twelve year olds have, giggling til all hours of the night. It was magical, to say the very least.

I feel tempted to share far too much…and so, I will.

Let me guess. You’re super in love and about to be wed and you want to make great photos. Let’s do it.

Susannah and Peter are a perfect match, and it makes sense that their wedding day would be perfect. Susannah spent the morning getting ready with her sisters, and their presence was exactly what she needed–they felt every wedding day emotion with her, and it was sisterhood and woman-power like I’ve never seen. Tight knit. Unbreakable. Peter and Susannah chose to see each other before the ceremony and ohmy I can’t recommend it to you enough. It just makes room for you to enjoy your day, your guests, and maybe even relax a little–I’d say that’s plenty reason enough to kick some tradition out of your wedding. The elated photos you’re about to see just after they were married? Not a chance on earth those could have been made if we had been rushing to do family photos. Susannah and Peter, thank you a hundred times over for making me a part of your celebration. I think the world of you both, of your families, and can’t say enough of what an incredible thing it was to photograph your wedding day. I don’t even know where to start sometimes. Because I could write about Linsey and Joe, their love story, how they’re both photographers so I’m honored they chose me to document their day, and how they changed their date so I could photograph them…but none of those things really get at the heart of it. The heart of such a beautiful day so carefully thought out but executed with such poise and relaxation, the time we spent getting to know each other and making art together. There’s nothing like it.
