Michonn + Matt: Orem Engagement

March 28, 2012 •

Bring on the wind, rain,

tornadoes…..Michonn and Matt are fabulous and in love through anything. Okay, so there was no tornado. But it felt like it. And oh, how I love wind in photos (although tornado-wind was a first, and not always magical). Michonn and Matt are so comfortable with each other–they can get each other laughing like nobody’s business. Only this much love could create these photos on such an otherwise miserable day. Another thing I love about Michonn and Matt? They’re the epitome of class. Classy folks photograph so incredibly well. Want to know something else I love about these two? They are laid back and invested, all at the same time. Another thing? I’m photographing their wedding in May, and I. cannot. wait! Engaged and planning a fabulous wedding of your own? Brooke Schultz is a wedding photographer and that means she photographs such lovely things as people being in love before, during, and after their weddings. She wants to photograph you. Give her a little email jingle to talk about it.

Lindsey + Brad: Provo Canyon Engagement

March 3, 2012 •

Lindsey and Brad are ridiculously in love, ridiculously good looking, and ridiculous amounts of fun. Their love is so energetically contagious, we stomped through mud and froze our tails off and they giggled through it. (But really. They did. You’re about to see.)

Gosh. In describing the couples I meet and their relationships, I feel so lame trying to put into words all the life force behind their love, trying to say in one measly paragraph all the experiences that bring them in front of my camera. I’m constantly amazed at the caring and friendship I see in the couples I work with, and Lindsey and Brad are the epitome of this incredible, glowing love that just makes my job amazing.

Thank you, Brad and Lindsey, for working the camera, crawling under branches, freezing yourselves half to death, and most of all letting me in on your relationship. You are beyond fabulous.

Do you have a brand new ring on your finger and you need fabulous photos of you and the one you love? I just might be your lady. Find out starting here.

P.S. If this wedding of yours is soon, the summer is filling up quick so drop me a line.

Brittany + Josh: Provo Engagement

February 22, 2012 •

When Brittany and Josh told me they met playing broom hockey, I knew we were in for an hour of pure fun–and I definitely was not disappointed. I love when couples can joke with each other, tickle, and giggle even on a freezing cold morning! The two of them are just such good friends, on top of being in love and all. It’s so encouraging to see couples that have that kind of deep friendship–that’s when you know it’s going to last forever, you know? All cheese aside, these two were just a bundle of photographic joy. (You’ll get to witness the gorgeousness in a second. And Josh, do people tell you that you look like Hugh Jackman all the time or what?!)

Brittany and Josh, thank you so much for letting me spend some time with you and for freezing your limbs off in the name of fabulous photos. You were a blast!

Emily + Matt: Provo Engagement

February 14, 2012 •

He proposed on the beach in New Jersey, the day she picked him up from the airport, two days before Christmas. Could it be any more perfect? Emily and Matt are the kind that just seem to fit together–be it Matt’s childish, quietly hilarious antics or the sweet way Emily worries, they make sense; you look at them and know they’re absolutely made for each other.

While we were rained/snowed/hailed out on our first try, our session was a dream, and dare I say it–warm. Is that spring I smell? Let’s hope so.

Emily and Matt, it was so much fun to witness your love and be there for the silly faces, the unstoppable laughter, and the tenderness the two of you share. Congratulations!

Emily? Remember how you’re beautiful beyond belief? Because yeah. I do. My two favorites:

Michelle + Mark: Downtown Provo Engagement

February 3, 2012 •

My gosh, Michelle and I were made for each other. I mean…she was made for Mark, really, because they are perfect together beyond belief. But we were made for each other because she is my dream client. Michelle is laid back and go-with-the-flow, but cares about the whole experience of her wedding day–she and Mark are planning about the coziest, most intimate wedding in March and I cannot wait. It always makes my heart jump for joy when clients let me know that photography is a top priority for their wedding–not only does it pad my ego nicely, but it’s also wonderful to know there are people who are willing to invest in fabulous, timeless photos. Our engagement session in downtown Provo was a blast, and although it included poor Michelle’s toes freezing off and an outfit change inside a costume shop (those places always weird me out a little bit…) their love was so magnetic and their simple, sweet caring for each other was so beautiful to witness and document. Meet Michelle and Mark, gorgeous lovebirds who slay me with their photogenicness and are truly best friends. Hello, Michelle? Are you listening? Because,

wow. Gorgeous. Planning a wedding of your own? Let’s talk about it. You deserve breathtaking documentation of you with the one you love as you start forever together. The bear hugs, the tears, the look on your brand new husband’s face as he shows you off to all his people–I want to be there for it all. Also, stay tuned for the answers from Q & A January!

Kirstina + Camon: Provo Canyon Engagement Session

November 1, 2011 •

The first time Kirstina met Camon he was shirtless and hadn’t showered in a few days. And he was on a motorcycle.

nbd.

(can I just pause to tell you how much I worship tacky abbreves? I love them. I will always use them. The end.)

Against her better judgment, Kirstina hopped on the motorcycle and started falling for the man who will be her husband in less than two months. These two are doing a long-distance engagement while Camon works in Idaho, and it was so fun to see them interact after missing each other all week. I would be such a whiny baby if I were Kirstina, lemme tell you–but they were just so. in. love! It’s beautiful to see couples who are in those golden stages of loving each other, when every little thing she does is magic and even if he forgot his deodorant you just want to be together and that’s enough. Kirstina and Camon are this couple–minus the forgetting the deodorant part (I think?….:))

We headed up Provo Canyon for some fall color action and Kirstina and Camon endured/enjoyed a smattering of “congratulations!” and a few whistles along the trail we were shooting on…troopers in every way! We tromped through the wilderness, the water, the weeds–all for love, peeps, all for love.

My greatest gratitude to the two of you for letting me share in your love–I can’t wait for your wedding in December!

I love, love, love when couples include props that are meaningful to them in our sessions–since Kirstina and Camon first met on his motorcycle, we decided to grab a few shots on the bike. I love being able to capture the things that make couples unique and the elements that define their love. (Notice their love of rock climbing with the clips and ropes above, too. I die!)

Have you heard of this Brooke Schultz woman person? Oh no? I’ll tell you. She is a super cool photographer based in Utah (and available for worldwide travel!) who loves people who love each other. She likes her ice cream melty and her clients lovey dovey. She hates cheesy pictures, excessive Photoshop, and believes in fresh, authentic photography–the kind that will never land you on awkward family photos. Want a little Brooke Schultz in your life? Brian + Ali: Provo Engagement Session

October 27, 2011 •

They took bets on when they’d get engaged, and they were pretty sure Jill won. “He looks especially twitterpated today,” Mark would say. Although Brian and Ali met originally their freshman years at BYU, the story has a lot more to it than typical boy-meets-girl and all is love. Sprinkle in a few missions, even fewer letters (she didn’t have his address, gosh!) and you’ve got just the right recipe for two incredible people to fall in love and decide to be wed.

Brian was Jared’s roommate back when all six of the boys were single, and I am always especially honored to take engagement photos for friends–gosh, documenting love is such an honor. We got together with all the old roommates and their newfound wives/fiances, and it was a blast to remember all the adventures the Rat Pack had together.

Brian and Ali are so photogenic, not to mention the gorgeousness that is this couple (I mean really. Have you ever seen a more genetically blessed pair?) and trekking around on a cold October morning can only bring this kind of joy if you are really, really in love. Lucky for them, they are.

*shot near the Riverwoods/Provo Canyon in Provo, Utah

Ali, you’re stunning. Holy moley.

Brian + Allie: Engagement Sneak Peak

Brian and Allie are amazing and that is real. I was so honored when they asked me to take their engagement photos! WOW I can’t wait to show you more. Happy Wednesday!
