Birth Story: Baby Ezra

I’m so grateful to share in the biggest, most tender moments of life as a photographer. Ezra’s birth was quick and easy–Mackenzie and Jesse kept saying, “I can’t believe that just happened! We have a baby!” The only thing not quick and easy: Mackenzie’s mom couldn’t come because of jury duty. 🙁 She was there in skype-spirit, though.

It was so great to see Ezra’s older brothers’ reactions to seeing him for the first time; they were both in awe. What an incredible experience. Mackenzie and Jesse, thank you so much for letting me share in this huge day! You are wonderful parents and Ezra is one lucky (and adorrrrable) babe.

-The role of compliments in posing (this might surprise you)
-How to tell clients they’re doing it wrong while making them feel incredible
-What to do when you draw a posing blank
-The phrases I use with clients over and over that get me different (and freakin’ gorgeous) results every time
-How to use your personality to get incredible photos from clients (no matter how outgoing or shy you are)
-The one surprising factor that affects posing and how your subjects feel more than anything else

Jen + JR: Salt Lake Hardware Building Wedding

Jen + JR’s wedding was a dream: sophisticated and glamorous, yet laid back–with plenty of guest mingling, heart-warming toasts, live music, and lovely dancing. The Salt Lake Hardware building was the perfect backdrop to their day (love that place!) and their big hearts and style for miles made everything perfect.

My Vienna Rose

After what felt like eternity to wait being overdue, 24 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing, my babe is finally here.

She is amazing, you guys. I can’t stop staring at her and snuggling her and smelling her. I’m obsessed.

Ohh my darling baby girl. You are magic. Your soft sweet sighs and tiny hands, the way you look at me and calm when you hear my voice. I’m awake at 4am to feed your tiny body, but you are more than worth it. I can’t believe you are my little girl. Oh, my beautiful treasure–how can I ever repay God for giving you to me? You are graceful like the grandmother whose name you share, and just so, so beautiful. You are the greatest gift and I am thankful beyond words.

Maternity Leave

My sweet baby Vienna Rose Schultz was born on May 3, 2013 at 3:54 am.

Ohh, she is so incredibly beautiful. I can’t wait to show her off to you.

I’ll be snuggling with this little one day and night for the month of May and will not be photographing. I’ll still be available via email, although communications might be a bit slower than normal on account of all the baby cuteness I’m drinking in.

I’ll be photographing again in June, so let’s make beautiful photos then, shall we?

Kirstina + Camon’s Fine Art Luxe Leather Wedding Albums

Kirstina and Camon decided it was time to preserve their wedding day in the most beautiful form–a custom designed album made of the finest materials. We went with super soft luxe nabuk leather–like, so soft you want to rub your face all over it and cover your bed in it and…it’s just really, really soft, people. Luxuriously soft.

Kirstina and Camon also added a mini album to match for parents to show off the magic of the day forever and ever.

Candis + Andy: American Fork Engagements

Liz + Robert: Provo Riverwood Engagements

Liz and Robert are crazy about each other in the most picture-perfect way. They have a love full of so much respect and admiration, and are just so tender with each other. Sappy people of the world would want to “awwww!” over them all day–they’re just so movie worthy.

The moments of magic happen when couples are able to forget I’m there and be fully present with each other; Liz and Robert did this perfectly, and whoa did we make some magic.

Heather + Scott: Utah Lake Engagements

Heather and Scott fit perfectly together. Their relationship is so deep and rich, so full–and my, these two can LAUGH! Not only are they both hilarious, it’s obvious how happy they make each other. I couldn’t be more excited for them and their upcoming wedding!

They braved the wind and the cold (spring? here? when? anyone?) to make some gorgeous photographs overflowing with their abundant love and a healthy dose of sass. It’s so funny to me that people like Heather and Scott can feel even an ounce uncomfortable in front of the camera–because hello. You are about to see the amazingness.

Heather and Scott, thank you for letting me document your beautiful relationship. It was a privilege.
