What should we wear?
Upon booking I’ll send you a little guide with all the goodies about what to wear. Two rules: mom gets to pick what she wears first and no matching.
When will I receive my photos?
14 days or less after our session date, via Dropbox–so you don’t have to wait for anything in the mail!
But Brooke, my house is just not pretty enough.
If you have at least one good-sized window and a door that leads to outside, we are good to go. I know, because you’re here, that your house is full of love, and that’s all I need. I have photographed families in apartments and gigantic spaces–please believe me when I say it does not matter. You matter.
We can also split our time between your home and another spot that’s meaningful to your family.
Do You Shoot Film?
Yes! You’ll still receive everything digitally, though–no negatives to keep track of! Shooting film means my top priority is light, so we’ll plan on spending most of our shoot in the brightest spots of your home.
But what if my kids are just going crazy the whole time?
Good news: you are off the hook for our entire session. It’s my job to worry about your littles–I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve. It’s your job to show up full of love and with an open heart. (Plus, it actually works better if you let me do the worrying–I count on kids to give me their natural selves, and they can’t do that as well with mom + dad trying to bamboozle them into following absolutely everything I say.) Pressure’s off you, love!
What about travel?
Sessions in the Orange County, CA area do not require a travel fee. Families south of San Diego or north of LA, contact me and we’ll discuss travel fees. I also occasionally travel to Utah for sessions.
If you’re far away and want to book a session, I’d love to. Right now, raising a little family of my own, I’m booking one trip per year. I’ll need 4 sessions in any spot in the US and they are $1400 each, including a 2 hour session in your home, 50+ completely edited files with print release, and travel. Contact me with your location and that will help me decide where to go. (Currently booking travel sessions for 2016.)
If you’re traveling to California and would like to book a session but you’re all Brooke I don’t have a house there I’ve got your back. Outdoor sessions are available for families passing through–contact me with the dates of your stay and we’ll make some destination family photo magic.
