Rachelle gets it.
I love what she wrote in an email to me after our session: “No one knows what anyone looks like anymore with the seventies filters of Instagram, scotopic vision of iPhones, and radium/copper of arsenite sickly greens of people specifically taking iPhone photos in bathrooms. I feel like a tangible being now!”
She makes me squeal with delight.
We meandered around her neighborhood and ended up in her apartment with some of her favorite books and magazines, and captured Rachelle on an uneventful day. Here’s to hoping more glorious souls like Rachelle understand the big-ness of their lives, enough to document them–with or without a huge life event.
And Rachelle, thank you for allowing me the absolute privilege to photograph you. You are a wonder.
